This airplane was intended to
create a school, the idea was to become possible everyone even those who didn't
have airplane to learn how to fly models, but the airplane was not the best for
purpose, since it the better one we had we used it. Being semi symmetric wing is
a quite fast airplane and as almost all A.R.T.F. is a little heavier than a kit,
initially we used an O.S. .40LA as power plant, but once the school closed to
some "repairs" I myself replaced the O.S by a .50 Webbra to have a "little" more
power.
| Still in the
box, those kind of airplanes, normally are very well packed and
protected and is this one was perfect, we have no choice in colours or
other choices since it came complete. Wheels, landing gear, engine
mount, fuel tank and other accessories are all supplied. The airplane
become ready to receive electronics and engine in less than one working
hour. |

Also electronics are very
simple to install, it has a support for three necessary servos to use in
the airplane body and is prepared for "standard" servos, all hardware is
supplied except the servos, of course. There is plenty off room for
receiver, in my case I left it in the meddle of the main gear support
with Velcro. The battery should be placed where best C.G. is achieved
and it's possible to install it from near the engine to close wing
trailing edge, allowing lots of engine weights to be used. |
| Engine
installation is quite simple, no problems to chose an engine since it
proved to be a "flyable" plane from a .40LA, very light weight and low
power engine to a Webbra .50 a heavy an very powerful engine, in the
last case becoming a very flexible airplane, even engine mount used was
the same for both engines without any problem, the worse part being
flight time, from 15 min (.40LA) to 7 to 8 min (Webbra .50) but we can
not have both power and economy. |

In this photo we can see
some details, as this airplane is to be used in very bad airfields, I
decided to use large wheels and foam ones in order to use it more
flexible, and in fact I myself get surprised with some places I have
used to land it, yes, landing is the problem, it takes off in less than
two meters, we only need to chose those two meters and it's ok, but I
can no land it in two meters, and believe me I've been trying. |
| In the centre of
the image we can see the animal ready to fly, in this occasion in OTA
airbase, a fantastic place to fly, we can see that is a quite small
plane (1,5 m) with a very high landing gear. But I was able to manage
some sophisticated manoeuvres with it and sometimes it behaves quite ok. |

In general way is nice plane, too
fast for first triner, but as second trainer with a good engine is an
interesting plain. But also dangerous, while
flying, the last time, it left the rudder behind first than the entire
stabiliser and at last, and the worse, the vertical stabiliser suffered from an
incomplete broke and the airplane become almost incontrollable, I was only able
to bring it back to airfield area without destroy it.
