This airplane was an offer in half
construction phase, I left it in the garage for 3 or 4 years, one time I decided
to finish it. Originally it was a colibri kit from unknown builder, the colour
used to cover some parts was no longer available so I just used other colours.
| Having decided to use an old engine (.40 FP from O.S.) seen here
separated from the exhaust and with a 3 blade propeller, my problems
just started, originally the plane was supposed to fly on a .25 but
since this is a very old and low power engine (no bearings) it seemed
ok, the problem was it didn't fit, so some adjustments were necessary.
But everything went quite ok, and engine weight was also correct for the
airplane. |

The engine support, some sanding is seen in order to fit a .40 in a
.25 space, the bottom part very well constructed and solid (as we were
to find out later), I used some varnish to protect balsa from the oil.
Fuel tank is also well positioned and covered. And landing gear support
is very strong. |
| Some detail on the body, is also well constructed, but
some details are hard do, all small pieces are correctly cut and easy to
assemble, it has plenty of room for battery in order to find the correct
C.G. all areas in the airplane can be easily accessed after finished. |

The servo tray, also quite well done and with plenty room for the
receiver and my case I also placed battery pack under the servos without
any problem. All surface movements are very smooth and precise, even for
the fist kit, everyone can assemble the electronics easily. |
| The wing, very simple, and strong enough, but after a
few "bad" landings I had to reinforce the trailing edge were the rubber
band fixes the wing, since this airplane was supposed to be a test frame
for lots of things I tried some details like a single servo and two mini
servos for ailerons, but the complete wing only weighted 350 grams. |

Control surfaces details, revealing one the worse weakness of this
airplane, it doesn't has a tail wheel and its impossible to turn it on
the ground. |
This airplane in my opinion has a
major problem, it should be a good trainer since it has light weight and
"trainer wing", but it misses the point, because its impossible to handle in the
ground (has no tail wheel), we must carry it to beginning of the runway and for
a smooth take off its necessary to face the wind. It becomes quite difficult to
get the animal in the air. That way a beginner may feel an extra difficulty from
is first contact with radio control.
